Elementalz by Foret

I found this wonderful shop on Etsy and my jaw DROPPED when I saw this. The shops' name is "FORET" with this neat caption... ♥Artisan jewelry and accessories with a luxe sophisticated ethnic flare and a healing touch♥ and that just grabbed my attention!

Here is what the designer had to say:

1. How long have you been creating?

All my life…and I am really REALLY old! LOL I think I came into this life with a very strong impulse to translate what I feel and see into art of some sort. I do have a fine arts background as well as a parallel career in holistic healing and counseling. It is most satisfying when those two flows come together.

2. Family?

I have only one close relative left! Can you believe that??? It is my son Ariel who just turned 25 (so, you see, I am not THAT ancient, LOL) and is still managing to make my hair stand on end. He is pursuing a career in entertainment as a standup comic who does all his own writing as well as a film actor.
3. what got you interested in jewelry making?
When I was a little girl, my grandmother gave me a tin of beads and odds and ends. I would make and remake all kinds of jewelry to both entertain myself and to wear. Jewelry design is in my blood…and so is apparel design, photography, drawing, sewing, etc.

4. What do you do in your spare time?
I think you mean hobbies. I really don’t think of 'spare' time. It’s all useful! I do like to study up on quantum physics and cruise around the internet looking for sites on weird science. Is that surprising? I also meditate and chant every single day. It is part of how I utilize my time.
5. The favorite thing in your shop?

My favorite things are the ELEMENTALZ because that is where the art and healing really come together for me. I sometimes combine them with my healing sessions with people...which include astrology, readings, hands on healing etc. A custom made ELEMENTALZ can be very useful in the person's process.

I just loved the colors in this treasury, browns and blues, and I waited all week to get a treasury, and actually got up for this one around 1:30am! AWWW...the sacrifice one makes for a treasury.

Diddly Squatters

This is the first in a series of cute little Diddly Squatters thought up by my dear husband, Geoff. He got an idea in his head and made "Bob the Diddly Squatter" actually formed after our neighbor! If I could share the story with you I would but I don't want to incriminate anyone LMBO but if you knew our neighbor you would understand at least the Diddly Squat part. :)

Burlesque Betty the Bodacious Fairy Beauty

Betty is my next in the series of Bodacious Fairy Beauties...you can come visit all of my Fairies at http://www.butterflyheavens.etsy.com

ETSY WEST MICHIGAN TREASURY

Etsy West Michigan Team is a fantastic group of great men and women that really know how to create. It's been my pleasure from time to time to make these great treasuries featuring some of these talented peoples' creations. If he won't bring you flowers just know you can pick your own right here!

Here is a new treasury I was priviledged to grab with a vengence...not very lady luck huh? LOL I love the colors, and love the theme of the little baby sleeping, dreaming of what she may become; what the world will have to offer her but more than that, what will she have to offer it? Luckily she won't have to worry for a long time because I think children should be children as long as they can because the grown up world is so complicated and troublesome at times. Oh to be a child once more...now I'm dreaming...

I was so pleased this morning to wake up to a sale. Every sale is precious to me but this one really made me smile. I'd only had it listed for a day or two and it was gone this morning. I got the pretty flower appliques from Ireland from a shop on Etsy and was so happy to be able to put it on a necklace that I was pleased with. This necklace is only 18 inches long, on me it's almost a choker but I have a thick neck LOL After purchasing these appliques I went back to look at the shop again and the prices had doubled! So this is the only one I'm going to be able to make as I can't afford to buy more at the price I'm charging and don't think anyone wants to spend 35 or more dollars for this. :) So the one who bought it will have the only one like it.

Go ahead and laugh, you know you wanna

This is my newest main treasury at Etsy, it's all about laughter. I just love this one, because it just cracked me up while I was curating it. The pictures are funny, the subject matter is just hilarious and I don't see enough funny stuff on Etsy. Please go visit this one and leave your love all over it.

A glorious day is unfolding...I got a new treasury! This one has some of Etsy WMI creations in it and I'm so happy to be able to have the time to do this. I called it "I went for a walk.." I remember going for walks a lot when my girls were little, we'd love to go to the creek and watch the water flowing and sometimes see little crayfish or tiny minnows. We'd find a stick and play in the water with it, stirring up the sandy muddy bottom. We'd find cattails along the road side and cut a couple down and the girls would beat them on the ground until all the seeds were scattered and floating everywhere! I really miss those days. To those young parents out there with small children; cherish everyday you have with them because someday you're going to wish for those days when they wanted to walk with you.

Sometimes things don't always go as planned. I was so excited to meet one of my EtsyWMI team mates the other day and she brought her daughter. It was so much fun getting to see someone that I've only talked to via the keyboard. It was fun to laugh, fun to get to know her and her daughter a little bit (who in fact will be president some day or make some man an extremely well prepared and organized wife complete with "to do" list.

I took them to my craft room upstairs and as we were descending I descended at a much faster pace. In the end April found out what it was like to have a real life sasquatch tumbling down after her. When life gives you lemons...get off your broken toe and make a treasury. This is the one I made.

Today I choose it to be a great day. Is the sun shining? Nope. Are the birds singing anyway? Yep. And they don't even have great friends like I do.

"Red" The Bodacious Fairy Beauty In Black and Blue

Red is a pretty, fair skinned bodaciously haltered fairy beauty sporting a gorgeous blue bikini with black polka dots. She's been wanting a bit of a makeover and decided to begin with a stunning haircut. As soon as the locks fell to the beauticians floor her hair went POOF but her friends just loved it! She got her self all dolled up because she just got a date with this dude that drives a truck and she can't wait to go swingin' with him! She heard he likes bodacious babes with red hair that like to swing LMBO She has a wire embedded in her blue and black polka dot winged back with a pretty blue/white/dark polka dotted ribbon for hanging from truck rear view mirrors. :)

Introducing: Glenna The Bodacious Fairy Beauty in Camo! Isn't she lovely! She is my tribute to all the hard working men and women in our armed forces...It all started when my friend at work who used to be in the armed forces saw my first Bodacious Fairy Beauty. We started teasing him (he loves the attention!) about making him his own fairy and naming it after him. I asked him what his favorite color is and he said "OD Green"! So Glenna is what came of this fun! I just love how she turned out and I hope you at least get a smile from her.

Gift Guides

The gift guides. How can I describe them? When I went there today I looked for interesting, magical, intelligently made articles that just had to be fabulous because well, they're in the gift guide. What it looked like to me was articles that were made in 2nd grade art class. Now I'm not perfect, I'm not saying that I am top of the crafting chain at all, but Etsy, please put things in there that are useful, that have a lot of thought put into them and stop picking stuff for the gift guide and the front page that freakin looks like belly button lint or something the cat hacked up. Otherwise I'm going to put a pin finding on the back of my dryer lint and dedicate it to you.
